Interview - Artisan Nails

Jayne, welcome to Spill the Tea my lovely. How long have you worked in the industry?
I’ve been a nail tech and beauty therapist for 8 years now but my passion is nails.

What do you love most about it?
I love the creativity and versatility of nails! They can be any length, any shape, any colour or design. They really are a perfect accessory to any outfit or look that you’re creating. I love to experiment with different products and techniques to bring truly unique nails.

Artisan Nails, your fabulous new company, tell us more!
Like I said I'm a qualified nail tech and last year in the first lockdown I had the idea of doing nails for drag Queens/Kings and all inbetweens. I sent a couple of free sets out to see what the feedback was like. Once I returned to the salon I work at I kind of parked the idea as I was so busy. I’m now up and running again as I’ve left the salon due to it not now being financially viable. It’s just me in my nail room at home working on creating top quality, bespoke designs.

How did you come to set the company up?
Initially to earn extra money during the first lockdown but I love it so much that I know this is what I want to do.

What makes your nails different to others?
My sets are all custom designed and made to measure to your nail measurements. I spend time with the client gaging exactly what they require and take into account colours, themes, personal preference. I use all professional products and I’m constantly looking for new and exciting techniques. I want clients to be excited to wear my nails and feel fabulous in them. I also provide adhesive stickers in every order which are much kinder to the natural nail than glue.
